Tractor Supply has some more incubators in stock. Specifically the NR 360 with free shipping to store. Snapped one up!

Question: Just candled my eggs due soon to go on lockdown and it seems that the air cells on them are a bit larger than what I am used to seeing. Of course I don't have pictures. Could you guys point me to some resources on air cell size? I am finding some in the forums using the search feature but nothing really helpful. I will keep looking, but if you know of any good ones off the bat I would be happy if you wouldn't mind sharing.

Another chick is hatching today. My others aren’t due til Monday or Tuesday so I either have to take care of this loner until the others hatch or attempt to give it to my momma hen that accepted 2 chicks this past Saturday (so her chicks are currently 5-6 days old). But I hear that’s not recommended since she already established who her chicks are and will peck at any new chicks. Thoughts?

My CCL eggs from Fox Fire arrived yesterday! I absolutely love how they package their eggs!! It's not just about packing the eggs well, but they put effort into presentation. It is like opening a present! (2nd set of eggs I have gotten from them. ) Double Laced Barnevelders left Kansas City this morning, so I expect them to be here tomorrow. BCMs, Silverudds, Opal Legbars, and 1 dozen+ assorted bantams (Duckwing Pheonix, Mille Fuer d'Uccle, and Pyncheons) either have shipping labels created or are on their way. 2nd try at Bresse eggs will be shipping soon.

I am getting my CCLs from Fox fire as well. I may live close enough that I asked her if I could pick them up. . I am getting the blue/black/splash maran at the same time.

I just candled mine so I could stick them in the incubator. Nearly perfect air cells! I think there were 2 that were just barely jiggly. The most perfect shipped eggs ever! The Gold Appenzellers were pretty much the same way.

Candled the Call Duck eggs again today just to see how they are doing after their traumatic experience. One of them did give up, so I am down to 3. Crossing my fingers that the last 3 make it to hatch.

Only ONE chick hatched out of the 12 I had shipped. Brutal! One little yellow Ameraucana. Soooooo....I went out and got him/her three other day old Polish to be buddies with . They have settled in perfect together and he has perked right up since they arrived....eating and drinking.

Okay so turns out Freckles stole one more today then apparently decided that was plenty there were 3 more in another box. I took the one she stole but I’m wondering if it might be okay to put it back? I calculated and she only started sitting Monday so today would make the third day, not 4th like I thought, and I think you guys said 3 was the absolute max or okay? And it’s only one more egg so doesn’t really matter if she gives up (though I would bring it in and incubate it anyway, wouldn’t let it die). But then I don’t want her to have too many eggs (she would have 8 if I gave her this one) and is it better for them to be 2 days if possible and not 3???
