I can hatch the same amount and without the turner I can do even moreHaha! And I just ordered another hovabator....I can now hatch 84.....and with all the eggs I just bought, it looks like that is going to happen.![]()
I love my salmon faverolles! Just got 6 more chicks last week to go with my 3 big girls! Hoping for at least one roo so I can hatch my own next year!Looks like they are a pink tinted tan egg possibly. Reading about their temperament won me over. They sound like such fun chickens!
So, I'm getting a bit scared. I'm setting 42 eggs (hopefully) tomorrow that are being shipped. I have a DIY incubator that will hold 123 chicken eggs. Do you think it's in my future to hatch enough eggs to actually need a second bator someday? What exactly have I gotten myself into? This seems to be an addiction!Haha! Well, I think you have to decide that. So, I'm getting a bit scared. I'm setting 42 eggs (hopefully) tomorrow that are being shipped. I have a DIY incubator that will hold 123 chicken eggs. I need to make my bator I haven’t even started on it yet. I have a mini fridge that’s perfectly good for it. I just haven’t figured out how I want to do it.Well, I think you have to decide that.Instead of filling the incubator all the time you can do incremental hatches, put some in each week. That way you have little puff balls every week and will not need a bigger incubator.
I'm glad to hear someone else has a DIY incubator, that makes three of us.After my comment above, I do have to admit I'm designing my next DIY incubator that will hold as many eggs as a Sportsman 1502..
