Terrible wind last night. :( Flipped the trampoline all the way over this time. It also blew over the dog kennel panels I have at the front of my chicken pen. I had them zig-zagged to sturdy them as I cannot put posts in the ground to hold them there - FIL has to be able to easily move a fence to get his model A out. I had to rush to get panels taken apart, remove the one that got bent in half, and put back up in 1 hour in the 90 degree heat in an hour as I had to run my daughter to the orthodontist (an hour and a half away) to get her braces fixed. Going to try and build a new fence with a large gate in it when I get some time.

So sorry about the damage to the fencing. Trampolines are the worst in the wind, I'm glad it didn't hit anything. Early this spring a neighbor's was destroyed and took some of my fence with it during a storm.
And hey, maybe the rainbow was Ma Nature's way of saying she was sorry? Just beautiful!

I need to do a better job keeping up with this thread. Congrats to everyone who's chicks hatched over the last few days! They're all beautiful.

My day 4 shipped eggs are looking strong. 14/14 Silverudd's are developing. Wow! Also 6/7 Marans and 5/8 55 Flowery eggs.

I'll wait till tomorrow to make an early guess on the other shipped eggs. I have much more modest expectations for them. If anything hatches I'll be grateful.

So it’s day 10 here! We have 12 good ones in the incubator. Pulled one quitter and one clear. There’s one welsummer egg that I was pretty sure was clear on day 7, but they’re kind of hard to see into. I’m so glad I left it because I saw a happy little embryo dancing around in there today! :celebrate

gonna give my broody 4 eggs out of the incubator when she comes out to stretch today, so I can candle the 4 that have been under her. I’m pretty sure 3 of them are infertile, so I can go ahead and pull them.

so we’ve got
9 BO
3 welsummer
1 welsummer/Sussex cross

hoping we get a better hatch rate this time since none are shipped eggs! 🤞

My eggs, my eggs, my eggs are all here! :ya
10 Maran, 10 partridge Brahma and 12 various laced Wyandottes.
Most of the Maran look quite light in color, which means blue from what I've gathered. That's the ones I want.
No damaged eggs or detatched air cells, and the cells were tiny so the eggs are fresh. I like this breeder!
