I'm not sure if it was ready. Looks like the air sac collapsed on it awhile ago, & it was smart to pip through the side or because it pipped through the side caused the air sac to collapse

Just hatched & had a really hard time pushing itself out of the shell. The belly button looks open

And this? What do I do? I have it wrapped in damp warm paper towel, it is chirping a good amount

I put bacitracin on the inner membrane & increased the humidity. It's chirping still... This is gonna be an all nighter
Am I missing anything other than leave it alone & keep it moist?

how'd everything turn out? candled mine they're doing fine maybe hatching later or something but they are moving...

Yeah, that's how mine looked. Big hole, but no zip as such. With mine, about that point there was a crack developing around the egg. I was able to remove shell without damaging the membrane one little piece at a time (then moisten the membrane and wait a little while).

By now you should have something happening. Update?

Still alive! I stopped messing with it at that point. too scared. I must have read Sally's assisted hatching article 10x! I did everything correctly. I put it in the corner so it would be able to move but if it has the yolk attached it would take a lot of effort for it to break free. I saw it open it's eyes and its starting to chirp louder. I really hope this one survives. It came from my black sex link, and it's completely white. LOL
