July Hatch-a-long

they can get just as close to you as a dog.Its just they are so messy. Its good DH hates  it  mess in  the garage and  his man cave defiled  ...maybe he'll build you a nice area for them and great coop without further asking  LOL
So many of the coops on BYC are to DIE FOR!! Swoon...
My biggest problem i have to build everything myself such as they are. and i dont get better  at it believe me....  And boy i wished a few times someone would do it for me PLEASE PLEASE!?  LOL

Ive built 6 tractor coops and runs to go with them  each diff breed or color and  the 3 large cages will-become- coops -one- day
Im sort of built out
So i cant get more chickens than i have. or more work for meWell now ihave laced lav Orps eggs coming...one more group to house

Oh wow, that's pretty impressive! I really don't have the patience of measuring, leveling and cutting like my DH does. I am attempting to build a turkey coop out of pallets took me a couple days to level the foundation out. So I'm trying something without the hubs, except for his guidance. Our coop he built isn't as good looking as some of these on byc, but it has stood up to 2 hurricanes & countless tropical & thunderstorms. We're talking about taking it apart & replacing some of the wood & probably modifying it a little.
Seems like everyone is hatching these Lavender breeds... So this is what the kids are into these days? ;) LOL!

Gen Ive been waiting for 2 years to have lavenders. I finally get them and now everyone's into chocolate and Hersey orps and English orps. I like lav better. 11 hatched so far and if goes as it looks ill have 13/13.

Well I currently have 8 coops, 2 of which I built 2 weeks ago to house some new chickens I purchased. One has my lavender orp roo and my ss, the other my BLRW pair, blue wheaton americanas, silver and gold laces &blue wyondottes & black wyondottes. Another has my other lav orp roo, ss, Bo. I have a Bo bantam pair, lavendef, black, white, partridge Cochin bantams, partridge cochins, bcm, buckeyes, light Brahmas, Andalusian, black australorp, production reds, leg horns, bantam lavender silkie, black & white frizzle, mille fluer d'uccle, barn hard mixes that free range. Chicks I have bbs Cochin, lemon cuckoo orp, black/lav splits, Bo x ss, silkie, bantams and im not sure of im forgetting anything. I have 7 acres and husband 40 ajoined, so space isn't an issue. Just seems im always building new coops because I find a new breed I like. I should really start selling chicks!
I was x 2 but have to stop!!
WOW you have every bird it seems like! That is how it goes isn't it? new breed new coop!

My last hatch was 17/19 only due to un-fertile eggs so id say that was 100% also. Like I said this Brinsea is awesome and worry free.
Every morning I go out to the coop to feed the chicks in big brooder theirs one lemon standing on the water dish waiting for me. I love their personality.

LOL!
If it made it thru hurricanes must be good I think pallets would be hard to me but I have seen some really cute ones My thing would be pulling out so many nails!! Im not good at that....TOO WEAK LOL
Mine are tractors so you dont have to level the ground only the coop frame
Last one I was going to do it right...like the ones on BYC (RIGHT) Should be able to do better after all these coops right?
I was going to make it perfectly square I know how to do that technically but my one side was off by 6 inches BUT couldnt tell it on the frame.... What the ?.
Looked square I spent an HOUR turning it this way and that rescrewing it here and there I mean there is A LOT of angles to a box frame !!GUH
Corner to corner it should be equal Wasnt at all Got it closer by a few inches and then gave up at dark.
Never could figure what was wrong. Slapped the ply wood on it and let it go. It worked out good enough door closes etc The chooks don't complain.
