BUT cross your fingers that my eggs hatch. I took them off the turner last night and of course the temps dropped. Waited for them to go up...waited...adjusted...waited...had to run to DBF's to pick up eggs for the delivery today. Came home around 9pm and it was around 97. Climbing SLOWLY. But they are in the new Hovabator that I've only used one other time, so I'm not as familiar with it as I am my LG's. Got up at 4am and checked - 94. Turned it up AGAIN. Back to bed; up at 6:30 - STILL 94. So I scrubbed and bleached my LG and transferred everything. Had to be at work at 8 so got it to 98 and hoped for the best. Had DD check before she went to work and it was 103. She turned it down (or so she said) because when I came home, it was 104

Got it stable now but still can't get the humidity up to where it needs to be. And I have people driving in from out of state to pick up button chicks on Sunday...I'm so not a happy camper right now.

ALL YOU HOVABATOR USERS: help me figure this out - the last time I tried to turn the temp up, it wouldn't turn anymore - the wafer was as high up as it would go. When I set it up originally, I didn't adjust the wafer on the threads - the temps were ok. Are you supposed to move it all the way to the bottom of the thread each time before you use it?

I don't know what's up with the HB temp thing. I know when i pulled my turner out my temps dropped a couple of degrees, and that was with my heat turned up, and up, and up. The temps never got so low that I was really super worried about them, but even 97 or upper 96 is uncomfortable, especially since it had kept extremely accurate temps the first part of the time. My eggs all hatched day 17-19 instead of 15-16. I'm thinking next time I'll preheat a hatcher in advance, and when the temps are good, move just the eggs, rather than deal with the temp adjustments after their in there already.
