Unfortunately we won't be sharing any eggs with anyone for a while owing to Lucy's antibiotics. :-( By the way, that's amazing Amelia on the label

I agree with asking neighbors or community members - When our neighbor got a dozen chickens I gave him our cartons and then family members of mine joined in the fun. Before we knew it, we had dozens of cartons to share!

I agree, especially if just sharing with family. Our cooperative extension advises the following: "When reusing cartons, the USDA Shield must be obliterated from the carton because this shield suggests that the eggs have been inspected by the USDA. Cartons must be clean and odor free. Some grocery chains do not want their cartons to be reused."

That's Amelia on the label--she's extra adorable because she has a snaggle bill from a hawk attack last summer.

I reuse carton all the time I share with friends and in turn they give back the cartons.
