Jumbo eggs?

I know a guy with some real jumbo eggs I can give you contact info about I got a 0% hatch rate but that was my bators fault all his eggs were fertile on opening them.

Bigger eggs don't always mean bigger birds. Sam always said breed for wider breast ands nice plump birds when you pick them up, if looking at them they might look smaller then some other jumbos but wider breast means more breast meat right? So I'd be ok with breeding for the route.

As I've said before... I really do believe that they were once true A&Ms with white meat and big birds but were out crossed with different types of coturnix and became nothing more but a color, so I must say that on that topic we will most likely always disagree.

It would be nice to find that mysterious Texas A&M around a pound. I just can't see it in my chicks though. My White with a black dot Texas is smaller than the Dark Range or Rosettas.

Well I got my jumbo coturnix eggs from the PO and compared them to some of my Texas A&M eggs and some of mine were just as big as the jumbo eggs. But eggs from my quail and the jumbo batch also varied greatly from very tiny to very large. So maybe ther is not consistent large egg layers. Of course of I am dealing with birds from only 2 sources.
