Joe, I'm just messing around. I know they are completely different.

Buttons (cbbq) to me are an ornamental species that are sort of like ground cage birds. Cots are more of a production grade (meat and egg and laboratory!) working bird. They both have their place. Both are pretty cool and the color mutations and variations for both are wonderful.

What if you breed a Button with a jumbo Cotunrix, and breed the button into the offspring??? or would that not work???

Two really different birds. I don't think they could hybridize that way.

Good analogy, cbbq are like diamond dove size (parakeet sized). Cots are like city pigeon sized (maybe slightly smaller since I've seen some BIG pigeons).

I think it would be a disaster and probably result with a dead Button.

The two need to be left as they are, no cross breeding.
