Jumpy Marans

I have begun to raise a few Marans recently. My flock is around two weeks old. Whenever I walk past their enclousure they run around like---well you know. They bump into each other, bounce off the walls, and generally act as if I were to butcher them. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to quiet them, or are all Marans as flighty?

I have ameraucanas that are 2 weeks and some a week younger and they act that way too as if I were godzilla!but I pick them up pet them and put feed in my hand ,they are getting better also talk softly and move around them slowly.
