Neat! Looking closely, you can see some type differences, but they are almost little twins! Better not let that band fall off

Is it okay if I join?

I wasn't planning anymore hatches until next spring. I even cleaned, sterilized, and packed up my incubator. Then my father-in-law gave me 17 Coturnix Quail eggs. DH has been wanting to raise quail for a long time. He thinks the eggs are the perfect size for pickling and snacking on. I know absolutely nothing about quail and haven't gotten any help on the quail forum, so any advice would be most appreciated.

While we were out of town for a couple days to pick up the quail eggs two of my hens collected 14 eggs and went broody. Seriously! We were gone three days! When we left not even a hint of broodiness from any of the hens. When we get back 2 hens stubbornly sitting on 14 eggs, and refusing to move. I was able to candle them and had to toss a cracked one, the rest were showing possible signs of development. They tried to snatch a freshly laid duck egg this morning. I think I got to it in time though.

13 - backyard mix chicken eggs. (Set sometime between 5/26 a 5/29)
17 - Coturnix Quail eggs. (Set: 5/30)

Welcome! Quail are fun, I had some for a while. Good luck with the hatches!

I set two more ayam cemani eggs today - at this rate I will be hatching all June! My ducklings might also be arriving this week, so even though I didn't hatch them myself, I hope you guys won't mind some pictures :D

Awesome, thanks! We have been wanting a few Ayam Cemani, but DH doesn't want to pay the price tag.
Yeah, pictures! Mind if I share a few also?

Not at all! I think the pictures are what people look forward to the most. Who doesn't like to see babies :)

:thumbsup

Of course you can join!! :frow :)

I believe quail are much the same as chickens when it comes to humidity and temperature, but I have never hatched any so I don't have experience.

Tell me how the hatching goes!
