June 2021 Hatch - A - Long

Pics
Jumping in, as I last minute decided to try to hatch some more silkies. Set 10 eggs from my Partridge and Splash hens yesterday. They just started laying again after being broody for 2 months. Cracked one open first and appears to be fertile.
Just sold my rooster, too. So it is a bit ironic. These two never liked him much and I have never been able to hatch any chicks from them up to now. I sold the rooster with the white hen that liked him just fine! I will see in about 4-5 days if these ones develop.😊

I just set 9 CL eggs and 3 CLxBR eggs from my own flock. Last month’s hatch didn’t go fantastic, producing only one lonely little chick...so of course I had to go adopt her a couple of sisters, lol.
My CL cockerel Tango has refined his seduction technique quite a bit. He dances for them now, instead of using a ‘sneak attack’ method while they were trying to eat :he
Hoping for a much better hatch rate this time around!

ok sooo I'm about to do a grocery egg hatch attempt. I went to my local fruit and veg shop and almost hit the floor when I saw quail eggs, not just any quail eggs, these eggs come from the same person I almost purchased fertilized eggs from on eBay. they had a deal on two dozen for $5 so I got 6 dozen :lau I love Aussie laws because we don't need to refrigerate our eating eggs that haven't been washed so there were not in the fridge either.
If nothing hatches that's ok because I have spent WAY more than $15 on hatching eggs that didn't hatch

The eggs I ordered for my broody Delaware just arrived. I ordered the cheapest, generic “assorted” eggs from Meyer, so I have no idea what they are. Anyone know how to decode the labels? They shipped Tuesday and arrived this morning, and I was VERY impressed with the packaging. They all look very good.

Okay, assuming the list I found online was accurate/up-to-date, it looks like I have, starting at the top left and moving clockwise:
Black Australorp
Lavender Orpington
Partridge Cochin
Light Brown Leghorn
Buff Orpington
Cream Legbar

Pretty excited about that LO - I really hope it's a lavender pullet! The CL would also be handy to have around, as it looks like 2/3 of the homemade EEs I hatched this spring are cockerels.
