Today should have been day 18 for the little guy, but I'm not very hopeful.

Day 20, Just let my hens out and miss broody Sunny was sitting backwards in her nest and I def hear peeping! Of course she wouldn’t let me get too close to take a peek, but as she was adjusting herself, I saw at least 4 eggs still intact (out of 6). It’s going to be a busy day!

okay round up time. I ended up with 8 chicks, 7 of them from the turner failure so that was surprising. I still have 2 eggs in the incubator from the broody, maybe in the next day or two from what it looks like when I candled last night.

My shipped eggs arrived early, as in yesterday, which is great as they only spent 2 days in the mail. 4 of the eggs were crushed by usps which is terrible and to tell the truth as wet as they were it looks like it was once again my post office that has done the damage. Plus they don't seem to be able to read huge notes of hold for pickup all over the box.

So it Looks like I am starting the July thread in a bit as I have to run my Lilly to the vet for her yearly shots and bloodwork so I'll do that when I get back and try to get some pics as I need to determine male from female anyway. You have to love auto sexing breeds.

She’s a proud momma! 3 maybe 4 hatched so far out of 6. She’s mostly keeping them tucked under her but one came out to eat . They should be an interesting mix, as 3 eggs came from my neighbor and the other 3 from a friend. They both have large flocks of many varieties. I will post more pics once she’s done, should be by tomorrow afternoon.
