June 2023 Hatch-a-long

4 of the 6 Silkie eggs are developing. cant see anything in three blue/green eggs yet.
I'm hoping I get a blue and/or a splash out of the Silkies but knowing my luck any that hatch will be white

checked on my quail eggs today. I started with 9. candled on day 3 and had 7 babies (2 eggs have cracks that I can only see when I candle so put wax on them, 1 was worse than the other), 1 egg i couldn't tell and 1 egg had a detached air cell so didn't have much hope there especially since I saw nothing in it on day 3. today is day 8 so checked again. I still have 7, but the really cracked 1 was a quitter, the detached had nothing. so guessing my ? one had a baby in it after all. LOL

Eggtopsy confirms that the 4 “clear” eggs I pulled had no real development, except one that did appear to have a sizeable fertilized blastoderm (RIP former possible keet).

• Learned I need better tools for if/when I do this again! (Used a small screwdriver as my and a pair of plastic forceps from a 1st-aid kit as my tweezers)

So from the attack I have 2 buckeyes 3 deathlayers 3 orloffs and the mystery chick left 1 sanjak was alive but had bad gash on its back I'm not sure it will make it I'm really devastated

I'm so soooooo sorry! At least it didn't get them all.
