June hatch-a-long!

I’m a newbie, but we got eggs today to put in the incubator! We got the “All Aces” assortment from MPC. We got:

• Barred rock
• Carolina blue sex link
• Delaware
• Salmon Favorelle
• Silver laced Wyandotte
• White leghorn
• Fun and funky breed marked with an “I” so I’m not sure what this one will be! It’s a greenish egg though

We will put the eggs in tomorrow which will make hatching day my daughter’s birthday

Can’t wait to hatch along with you guys!

Today was candle day #2! I went ahead and got rid of the ones I knew hadn't even been fertilized. That was 4 eggs. So I have 18 eggs left. Two of them may be bad but I will wait until day 14 to make a decision on those.

I got some adorable videos of the little chickies moving. Could even see little legs on two of them ^_^

Big ol' eye! Lol

This one is one that is most likely bad. There is no movement in this. It was hard to tell so I had drawn the outline of the embryo on day 7. I figure to be absolutely sure I'll wait until day 14 to remove it.

This one I believe is bad as well. But just in case I'll wait until day 14 as well.

I couldn't tell on this one either so it waits until day 14, too.

Rotten egg!!!

You see that lighter spot on the shell? It was just that little spot at the top but then after it sat out for a bit it got bigger. This is the rotten egg.

Just put 6 turkey and 6 duck eggs in the bator.... I went into lockdown with a single turkey egg..

I have life in all my eggs, still keeping an eye on the broken one. I should put some more liquid skin on....

Millie laid another egg the day before yesterday so I put that under.

BUT last night the Silver Spangled Hamburg x Easter Egger in the broken egg was moving around! The coolest thing ever. I can't wait!! June 11st is the first date. I CAN'T WAIT THAT LONG!!!!

One in the incubator had a blood ring . Down to two in the incubator and three that are developing under the broody. Crossing fingers!!!!

Candled the Dorking eggs this afternoon and out of 9 eggs 2 were fertile, 3 looked like they were fertile but possibly have died as there was no movement and the rest were scrambled/detached air cells.

I'm a bit disappointed but not surprised! The light sussex, who I thought had stopped being broody, decided she wanted the eggs and they all got chucked about/some were cold when I found them. To be honest I'm amazed any survived!
