June Hatch-A-Long!!!

I wasn't too surprised that I had some blanks. The females I put with one of the males hadn't been with any males. I didn't put any of their eggs in the incubator until I ate a couple that were fertile. Before that everyone I ate was infertile. I had eggs every day for breakfast for awhile. I haven't been eating any eggs this week. Tuesday they are supposed to hatch. I had a couple that looked like quitters. I marked them and put them in the hatcher anyway. Here is one I thought was a quitter from a previous hatch.

So cute!! :love

I'll join you.
Me too!!

This is my 3rd set of bielefelder eggs in the past month or so! My temps were way off the first 2 and I only had 4 hatch from 25. 3 females and one male. The the electricity went out and one got super cold. Put her back in the incubator and she seemed to be doing better once the electricity came back on but she was dead the next morning.

I set 14 eggs on June 3rd and when I candled a few days ago 10 were progressing nicely 1 was pretty sure 1 had quit but decided to leave it for a few more days!! Keeping my fingers crossed that I have a decent hatch this time!!

What is your humidity and temperature. I thought my humidity was way off for the first couple of weeks but discovered my hygrometer was off. I couldn't get the humidity down according to it. I put several more in the incubator and discovered my humidity was good and where I wanted it. I actually bought a couple of new hygrometers. I think my humidity was off in the very beginning. I had some that I marked as possible quitters but left them in the hatcher since I marked some in the past and they hatched.

Hello I'm interested in hatching silkie and mille Fleur bantam eggs. Does anybody know where I can get cheap and trusted fertilized eggs? I do not have a rooster and if I did I wouldn't want to risk mix breeding for this is my first time. Thank you.

Good!! I had 12 eggs under my broody hen and she cracked 3 so now I’m down to 9, but they are all fertilized!!

My first time I hatched, I hatched out some barnyard chicks. My hatch wasn't the greatest. Most people who sell eggs for hatching especially pure breeds get good money for their eggs.
