Awesome.. I ended up with 7 (4 males 3 females) which to me is an excellant hatch rate! I did check the other 3 eggs and they were all dead in the shell, but overall I'm pleased!!There were originally 12 eggs under Cookies (my broody hen) and she cracked a few and now she is down to 6. I poked a hole on the airsack side on all of them, 2 were dead, and 3 were about to explode. On the weak chick egg, when I poked a hole, I saw the beak poking through the airsack!! I saw it breathing too!! Life!! Finally!! I’ll post a pic of the egg later!!![]()

Chicks that have hatched so far. Still a lot more to go. I put some crumbles on the paper towel and they are laying on them. Sometimes they are on the new clean terry cloth. They have to rest. It's a hard ordeal hatching.

So Cookies ended up crushing the egg and killed the chick last night. I was really looking forward to it hatching.I'm pretty sure chicks don't have to eat till they're 72 hours old?
