Went to lock the chickens up. I found a partially developed chick on the floor, checked under Florentine and found 3 broken eggs under her, not including the one of the floor. I'm utterly heartbroken.

So sorry for your loss
Was she a first time broody? I’ve never had a broody chicken, but I’ve read in other threads where a rooster or other chicken has gotten in and done the damage, not the mama

She is. And that's what I suspect because she's been SO good, except for the mishap of hopping into the wrong nest twice. I think she still has a couple viable ones in there.

My two day old babies are already showing their talents! These two are going to be authors.

I just can't tell who is who. At least they made it!

My hen moved today. She is now on new eggs.

All of the eggs she had are dead

6 known hour since the shell has been broken, I’m now up to 4 pips, 2 through the membrane. I’ve added some water and am up to 58% with one well filed.

Due to the move? Or just quitters?
Hopefully the ones she’s on now are solid

Oh no I had a broody hen that would do that with her clutches I would let her sit until the babies were 18 days then take them and put them in an incubator for the last few to finish hatching them. She would kill them every time. So sad, I'm so sorry.

Stupid rain. It's pouring again and we are up to 72% humidity with no water in the wells. Poor things are going to drown lol. Eggs were rocking like mad around midnight and now they are just hanging out. They are determined to drive me crazy.
