June Hatch A Long

Pics
@the cluck juggler what should I do? Leave my two early birds to fluff more and play egg soccer overnight, my first three chips haven’t broken membrane yet 8 hours minimum since pip... I could use some sleep, but should I evict the active chicks before I disappear for 5 or six hours?

How dry are they? And what sort of heat source do you have for them? Mother hen heating pads are good for drying off even newly hatched chicks if you set it low enough. With IR lamp I'd be more cautious about putting half-dried chicks under it.

I think they can stay in there overnight I usually pull mine once they are fully fluffed up. Usually they talk other eggs into hatching too while they are at it.

The cutest is the egg rocking and tail king with her little sister 2 out 38 more to go...

I played your video while sitting out with the chooks and they were so excited! Came running over to say they want to be Australian Aunties to your new chicks hehehe unfortunately I was too slow with the camera, but they were INTERESTED.

I’ve got a Brinsea eco glow heat plate, the 20 in my tote brooder.

I’m worried about the pipped ones that haven’t broken their membranes getting kicked around too much.

Should I pierce their membranes before I go to bed? there’s three two started before the two that are out. I have patience (temperament) and anxiety issues (temperament and concerns from my last hatch)

You can definitely to give them a little safety hole to breathe out of. I put my safety hole in the end of the egg so even if they got kicked around they would still be able to breathe. I took a very small screw and made just a super tiny hole in the very end of the egg over the air cell.

Went to lock the chickens up. I found a partially developed chick on the floor, checked under Florentine and found 3 broken eggs under her, not including the one of the floor. I'm utterly heartbroken.
My hen moved today. She is now on new eggs.

All of the eggs she had are dead:he:hit

Oh my goodness! I'm so so sorry for you both! :hit *hugs* :hugs
