I pick my favorite eggs, or the healthiest looking, and adjust based on those.

If they were all favorites, I would pick the ones that need adjustment most. If your big ones are bigger than they should be and your smaller are normal, adjust a little for the big ones.

If your big ones are normal and your smaller and teeeeeeny, adjust for those.

I never get awesome views like that! I agree don’t ruin the illusion if it’s not really a bill.

I’m using little giant incubators (if I had known initially that I was going to end up with 2, I might have sprung for a Brinsea Cabinet instead back when I still had more cash) sometimes I shake my head that I spent so much on two little plastic trays and styrofoam boxes, especially after my first hatch only had a 29% hatch rate...

My problem areas seem to be the blue spots, and I’m not certain but I think maybe my cup baby was right under the heater? I agree that more eggs in the incubator helped stabilize the temperature much better than in my first hatch. In that one, I recieved extra eggs 7 of which wouldn’t fit in the one turner, so I ended up with the second incubator. It is kind of nice to have 2 though, because with both my hatches once something went wrong and things got really stinky, I was able to transfer the eggs into the second incubator without shocking them too badly with a temperature/humidity drop.

I use the little giant when I incubate eggs. I have the same problem areas you have. What I do now is evey time I turn the eggs I take the egg at the end of the line and move it to the top and so on. I do this so they all get moved to a different spot each time and no one is sitting in a hot or cold spot all day. I also add rocks to holed the heat. Hope this helps.

I have a question for the brilliant minds... my little June babes are a week old now and thriving however there seems to be a ‘runt’. It is considerably smaller that the others and seems to nap a lot, is this natures way of telling me that it may not make it?

In the first pic where it stands hunched with its eyes closed, it looks a little under the weather. Have you tried vitamins in their water? The water soluble ones, B and C can be given all the time, almost impossible to overdose. Boiled eggs are also good for perking up unhappy chicks (it literally contains everything they're made of). Hope your little guy will be all right!

I put my 5 golden pheasant eggs under a broody, and they hatched yesterday! 4 peepers. Mommy Snow White was a bit confused. She'd discarded 2 of the hatchlings outside the nest but luckily they were still alive when I found them and I put them back under her. Last night I took the babies out and put them in front of her. She pecked at them, but after a few minutes of chirping she reluctantly started clucking back. Back under mommy with them and this morning she didn't peck at all when I put them in front of her. Crossing fingers she's accepted her weird babies...

Thank you, I haven’t tried anything g yet as I wasn’t sure, I have vit C tablets that I could use. Should I put her aside from the rest to have some time to recover or will that just make her decline faster?

I would check her for pasty butt, give her the vitamins and maybe give her and the rest of the chicks a wet mash from chick crumbles. That should make it easier to eat. Make sure she gets a fair share of food and water. I would eep her with the others as long as they are not harming her. I have a GLW runt who started out like that and is still a little bit like that at 15 weeks. She's small but pretty competent.

As @Willowspirit said, unless the others are bothering her, it's best to keep her with them. How big are the crumbles you give them? Smashing them to pieces could help her eat. Next time you're at the store you can pick up some vitamin B pills too.
