June Hatch A Long

I would check her for pasty butt, give her the vitamins and maybe give her and the rest of the chicks a wet mash from chick crumbles. That should make it easier to eat. Make sure she gets a fair share of food and water. I would eep her with the others as long as they are not harming her. I have a GLW runt who started out like that and is still a little bit like that at 15 weeks. She's small but pretty competent.

She does have pasty butt, and I check her bottom twice a day. She does eat but I think because she so much smaller she gets pushed out of the way. I’ve given her a small amount of vit c but she just cheeps like she’s stressed. I’ll wet down the mash and offer her some but she’s just so sleepy...

You might also give her something with sugar in it. This is something people do with puppies to get their appetite started.

I put my 5 golden pheasant eggs under a broody, and they hatched yesterday! 4 peepers. Mommy Snow White was a bit confused. She'd discarded 2 of the hatchlings outside the nest but luckily they were still alive when I found them and I put them back under her. Last night I took the babies out and put them in front of her. She pecked at them, but after a few minutes of chirping she reluctantly started clucking back. Back under mommy with them and this morning she didn't peck at all when I put them in front of her. Crossing fingers she's accepted her weird babies...

@Ohlivia what cuties! Keep trying the egg. They may not be so interested at first, but it is a great boost. Do you have a feed store around you? You can get some electrolytes and probiotics for the water. Or nutri drench if they have it.

If something is going on internally that isn’t helping her thrive, they usually don’t make it past a couple of days. If they are eating, drinking, and pooping, there’s not much else to hope for. I have had several “runts” that eventually catch up, months down the road.

Just out of curiosity we’re all your eggs same size? Any pullet eggs?

Yes @Ohlivia , The two Marans I hatched from pullet eggs are quite a bit smaller than the rest of my chicks... so that is possible, I had a runt in my last hatch, one of my isbars, and “Tiny” has finally almost caught up in size to her sisters at about 7 months. She does have some issues with shelless eggs, despite ample calcium prodiveded, and some supplementation via tums. She is otherwise happy and healthy, and has never really been a pecking victim despite her smaller size... so it can work out!

It is considerably smaller that the others and seems to nap a lot, is this natures way of telling me that it may not make it?

I came across this old thread about stunted growth chicks that seem very similar to you situation and there are updates on the adult chickens from the dwarf chicks. Thought you might be interested. I understand your concern but I can't help but find that little bitty absolutely adorable!
