June Hatch A Long

Do you mean take him out of the egg for the pic ? I just wanted to clarify before I did, in case that isn't what you meant ! I just took him out ( of the cup for a second, not the egg ) & he was trying to wiggle out & whatever it is, it's still attached to his navel for sure ! He's taken a tiny bit of sugar water & seems perked up, & opens his eyes much more now. He's been VERY vocal
Yes it will be easier to see what's going on if you take him out it is probably the membrane and umbilical you're seeing.

From what I can tell so far, it seems more like the second pic

Then I would pinch it off and either break it below where your fingers are holding it for a count of 10 after you break it and then you can dip it in betadyne water if you have it or leave it. It will dry and fall off as he or she gets dried off.

Okay, I tried getting a pic & he was wiggling all over, but I was wrong, it is definitely like the first pic :hit

Ok then just keep him in the cup for now and give him more time to absorb the yolk sac. :hugs It's ok! You needed to know what you were dealing with.

Okay then back in the cup and just wait and be patient he or she will absorb it. Put tissues or gauze in the cup to keep him from being able to push to get out.

He or she will be sleepy and more quiet until they finish absorbing and then will get very vocal about wanting out. Sugar water will help if it's ruptured to keep him or her feeling okay or you can do nutridrench in water if you have it which has vitamins and electrolytes.
