she is not improving today. She has made a few sounds after sleeping for a couple of hours but she is still doing the open mouth and tongue stick out every single breath. I have her wrapped in paper towels no inside the cat carrier so she can’t flip with her head propped on a stuffie and she is sleeping. I’m hopeful that rest can make things better as a last ditch.

I’ve gotten no help or info from my multiple geese-specific groups. It’s probably just one of those things that happens.
She CAN struggle if she wants to, so I’m thinking she isn’t terribly uncomfortable so I am okay waiting for improvement without cullin her right now.

but, this sucks.

I only have big hugs to offer. I’ve never dealt with goslings. I’m so sorry. I am hoping she improves!

Have you tried this facebook group? They're supposed to be very helpful with waterfowl there. This is where my friend got assistance in how to save the goslings that did make it after the toxin situation. I still have my fingers crossed! She's in good loving hands with you!

I’m so excited to finally be incubating eggs! And, I’m in Southern California where the VND quarantine has just been lifted. We can get chicks and eggs again! It’s been 2 years!

That’s awesome! I wondered how things were going with the VND quarantine. Is it lifted completely?

Ok wish me luck today is officially Lockdown , this is only my second attempt at hatching chickies last time was all bad no survivers but yet only 2 out of 24 ended up being fertile last time , I have 19 this time that have made it to lockdown ,i'm so excited, anxious hoping for a good out come this time

The breeder called me and talked through and feels like she got flipped over either startled or pushed over by the other two and exhausted herself trying to get up and she is too fat to do it herself.

this makes sense and I Hope is the case.

Yes but most of them are dark eggs so couldn't really see much , I have been seeing some wiggle in the incubator.

Candled the eggs today and locked down. Took out 6 early quitters so 23 left.

Oh and one has the air cell on the wrong side and it’s a tiny egg but it’s very much alive so
