All of my other avatar babies were self blue just like momma. The last 3 hatched were black, dad was a BCM. Hopefully if I breed them with a splash or a blue I will get them to go back to a blue. They are frizzle though.

Those nest boxes are brilliant! Can you tell me more about them please? I am a long way away from getting eggs from this hatch but it's good to be prepared right? How do you have the self control to candle on specific days!!?? Day 4 , and the snuggle is real. Don’t want to disrupt broody hen but....... I think I can wait til tomorrow.
Sorry Cindy, I haven't been following this thread. What are your readings on your wet bulb?Wet bulb (as far as I understand it) seems to be a way of measuring temp and humidity as one measurement. I think the thermometer probe (the mercury bulb) is encased in wet material--so you would be aiming for a "wet bulb" temp, which will be a lower target number than the dry reading would be.
Did I hit anywhere in the vicinity of the target, @R2elk ? @007Sean ?
This will help you. Someone on here was having issues with an incubator and none of us have heard of it... maybe you can helpSorry Cindy, I haven't been following this thread. What are your readings on your wet bulb?
I had a lot of eggs in my last hatch, but still used only on hatching tray (not two), so the eggs were too tight and I had to reach in and change the angle of a few of the first eggs so they could open. I am hoping the vertical hatch would solve that, I don't want to open the door.I did that this last time with shipped eggs. They hatched no problem. Funny to see them "pop" off the lid of the egg and then tip over. They did fine though!![]()
Why are they so cute!?
