June Hatch-A-Long

Pics
I swear I recall you say that you are not hatching anymore. Maybe it was just a dream :lau I will be in this one as well, I am going to ask everyone what I should hatch...

Fort Clucks Hatch Roster:

Polish Deathlayers
Bantam Brahma Deathlayers
Cochin Deathlayers
Mixed Coturnix Quail (if mine start laying the first week or so of June)
Mixed Marans (Local Breeder)
Rooster Dude Eggs (A buddy of mine who has a mixed flock, he owes me 42)

Hatch them all!! I am so excited to see what your Deathlayer crosses look like all feathered out!

I have a handful of Nankin eggs in my 'bator at the moment. They have seven days left, so we;ll do one last candle tonight. Hopefully we'll have a good hatch and be cleaned up n' disinfected in time to set more for the Fathers; Day HAL. My issue now is that only one Nanny hen is laying - except for one who just came off her chicks, the rest are all either very young pullets or older hens who recently decided that retirement was calling. I've still got four larger hens laying, but I'm forcing myself to fridge those. I keep telling myself that I REALLY don't need more mixes ... but BABEEZ!

What’s a nankin?

Oh good grief 😂😂😂 you need to join hatchers anonymous with @kelseyk and I

Haha!! I have placed 13 orders for eggs on ebay since April - have hatched 8 of those out, have 1 in the hatcher, 2 in the incubator, and 2 should ship (hopefully) this next week. I have also hatched some from my own flock and have offered to hatch some of the neighbors eggs for her. I still need to order Call Duck and Guinea eggs as well as hatch some pheasants for my hubby. And depending on what I end up with out of my May hatches so far......I may need to order some more Svart Honas and Gold Neck d'Uccles so my kids have a roo and a couple hens in those breeds (4-H chickens). I did stop myself from buying the d'Anvers though....but then contemplated buying Light Brahmas (closest thing to my Delawares that I wanted that was a flop of a hatch)......we'll just say they are all still being "watched" on ebay though. :lau

ETA: My little experiment isn't helping with my hatching addiction either. LOL! Need more babies to test it out on.

My son's favorite color is orange. He didn't like the Mille Fluer d'Uccles, but fell in love with the Gold Neck. He also picked the Gold Appenzellers (because they are more orange). My daughter has had the silkies for a couple years now and chose to add the Svart Honas (she wanted something that no one else in our area had and had read that the Svart Honas were supposed to be more friendly than the Ayam Cemanis). So far her little Svart Honas have been the sweetest little things! I'm hoping the Gold Neck d'Uccles are the same way. Our Silkies are sweet as can be too. I have a lot of chicks that I like this time around!

Can I join!? I might need to soon 😂🤣😂

These quail grow up sooooo fast that I’m gonna be constantly hatching probably 😂🤣😂🙈🙈

And then once Jack starts fertilizing the eggs.... 🙈🙈🙈

He’s been mating with more girls finally but still not all of them or the ones I really want him to lol so gotta wait. He also doesn’t know what he’s doing yet 😂🤣
