Is this the same bobcat that’s been terrorizing for a while?!?
Probably, it’s MO and favorite stalking area is the same! I’ve tried to trap it and been unsuccessful. I’ve rarely seen it and never for more than a second or two. Brush clearing is my definite next step. I’ve evenly recently considered running electric wire all the way about our property, but that’s 2500 feet! Probably a totally insane idea. :th

You tried a live trap with one of those cockerels last year right? Am I misrembering this?

No, don’t really have the right trap for that, and I don’t think I could bring myself to put a live bird in a trap anyway... One of the frustrating things about the bobcat is he only shows up every once in awhile - it’s been suggested to me that it’s a male with a large territory/long circuit. I think that October was the last time I definitely saw it. So, I never know when it’s going to be around. I’ve never caught it near the coops with a game camera even though I’ve seen it near the coops several times; I don’t know it’s timing or route of its circuit to more effectively trap, and I think I’m a pretty poor trapper anyway!

Woohoo I'm so excited 😁 Day #15 so far I can comfirm 19 out of 24 eggys are growing strong even the one that has a hole in the shell , one quick question on day #18 lock down do you not turn them at all and just raise humidity and lock it down sorry I'm new to this ... I find this whole journey of life Absolutely Amazing.

Nice candling pictures! By day 18 for chicken eggs, turning isn’t necessary. If you have a turner, you will need to remove eggs from the turner, so there will be some shifting around from that process. If you are hand turning, you could give them one last turn if you like. If air cells look good, you can raise humidity then, but some people don’t raise it until closer to hatch or if they see an external pip. I usually raise humidity a bit, to maybe 50%, then put a water line tubing in so I can add water without opening the incubator, for higher humidity closer to expected hatch.

Today is Day 14 for guineas and their first real candle! I removed 4 eggs, leaving 38, but 2 are probably quitters that I left in to recheck. I took a few not so stunning pictures. I haven’t candled the 6 eggs under the broody guinea (Viceroy) yet. I worked late so DD got her off the nest to collect eggs, and said she was fierce and unpleasant about the whole thing! :gig Poor DD, poor Viceroy!

I remember someone here setting up a bobcat trap with a live something. It’s a setup where that live “bait” is totally protected but lures the bobcat to the trap. I thought it was you but I think I’m just remembering when the cockerel got away.
