June Hatch-A-Long

@SnapdragonQ That is the exact model I have been considering. It sold out on amazon while considering it. I found it on Meyers when checking my duckling order, I get sidetracked... It is good to know that I can also get it on Tractor Supply for quite a bit cheaper.

As far as the Biel eggs go sure. Once they come in I can send you the information and pictures :)

Clearly marked 31st... don’t mind the dirty eggs, they’re from a customer who gave me free eggs. I cleaned them the best I could, but unsure how they got this dirty.

So in looking at my chicks that hatched last week. I looked at the feathers on the wings. Both chicks have two different lengths of feathers I believe I read that this implies female chicks.

Update on my little death layers that had the crust over the pip. It passed this morning. It just never seemed to be able to recover after the problem with the pip.

Thank you! I'm super interested in the Bieles.

Have you checked Rural King? They are too far from me to shop in person, but like TSC I think they will ship items too.

No experience with Cuckoo but I used to have BCM. When I got mine they were super hard to find and had the darkest eggs thus far of the Marans.
I've also read people are favoring them as a DP because they (according to them) have bigger body cavities, are more square, and make a good table bird.

Thanks! I have 2 birchen Marans chicks from my last hatch, one black and one blue. My current Marans eggs (both Copper and Birchen) in the incubator is looking questionable, so thought I would buy some day old chicks as back up, could only find the Cuckoo available. :)

Anybody out there have experience with Cuckoo Marans and why they are usually cheaper then the Black Copper variety?:)
I am thinking of getting some chicks...
Because they don’t lay the deep chocolate eggs that Black Coppers lay. They’re the same with temperament and laying. I’ve had both breeds and they’re a great addition to a flock.
