June Hatch-A-Long

I have a broody bantam Cochin sitting on 20+ eggs right now. I couldn't get an accurate cound because she was putting up a grand fight. I know 14 of them are due to hatch on June 13 and three of them are due June 19. The others... I'm not sure. The girls like to share the nest and the other hen likes to have her eggs mix in. lol

The three due on June 19 are Cochin X Ameraucana. I'm hoping they'll be black.

I got the eggs from from a friend and she had a bunch of white/blue Cochin hens in with a silver Ameraucana roo. There was also a buff Brahma in there so it's possible I got one of her eggs. I don't know. The third eggs is pure Ameraucana. It was either from a silver or black hen and the same silver roo. I'm excited to see what hatches.

Im day 21....no pips yet.

Will be hanging out here as I have another batch set to hatch June 19, and then later in June (cant remember the date without looking)

One silkie!! But it has 4 toes on each foot?? not able to hook up PC and no others look like they want to hatch.

mayberrygirl - I found someone near me that breeds silkies..she's gonna let me know when she has some eggs available and I'll pass the info on to you. I can probably meet you in Roxboro or somewhere halfway if you want...

I havent had very good luck with ebay sellers. As far as eggs arriving safely as well as good hatching results....has been no bueno.

I took the chick out to put it in the brooder and upon further examination - all toes present and accounted for - we have 5 on each foot!!

This is the first batch ordered off e-bay and I got 1 out of 5 in lockdown (

for at least one more to hatch) and locked down 5 of 8.

I dunno what went wrong.
