June Hatch a Long

HI,
This is a little off topic..............but this has been my support  since the March hatching thread...........
My little girl that hatched with one wing passed away..........She just never did well as far as eating like she was not interested.
I gave her yogart, smashed eggs ect.and bought two silkie chicks for her in hopes competition would create an interest in food........
Obviously, she had problems that were not visable. She slept with me.( knew better but did it anyway).
It was interesting to me that the silkie chicks seemed to take care of her............one on each side of her when they rested......
Anyway, thank you for letting me share my grief. Who would think losing a little thing like that could hurt so bad...............
Feel like a big baby........................

Oh!! It is always hard. Hugs!!!

I feel horrible but inside I am so excited because I have a silkie baby hatching right now! It is from my flock! Looks like a splash so far. But who care I just know it will be beautiful! Just hoping it is a girl! Here is a pic of it unzipped and resting.

Ugh!!!! Went to check on bator. Saw no pips and no chirping so I decided to grab one and check it. It had pipped on the wrong end and it was laying on it!! I though for sure it was dead so I starred to peel back the shell and it started bleeding and them I noticed it was still breathing!!! So now I am freaked and positive I've probably killed it. What do you use to stop bleeding? I can't remember so I grab baking powder. :/
Right now it's laying on a wet paper towel in the bator and I pulled back enough shel to get it's beak free. Hoping it will not bleed our or drown. *sigh*. It was my only Lemon Cuckoo Orp that made it to lockdown.

You did the right thing. Leave it in bator and let it finish absorbing its blood and yoke. Think positive.

Just went back ro check and it was dead. :hit

Going to bed now! Day 22 done moving on to day 23 with 7 AMs in the bator. I know 1 is still possible. So we'll see what happens while I'm out of town tomorrow!

Thanks

Thanks for the encouragement! It's been one of those days where I have to force myself to be positive so thank you for the reminder!

oh no. I am so sorry. It is always hard. We are here to help in any way. Advice and cheering you up!

Not been able to keep up with you guys!! BUT here are some of my June babies (all Seramas)... first pic is of the June 5th solo hatch pullet (Cayenne) and her little cagemates... who were hatched on the 14th. They are all siblings or half siblings, from a trio pen EXCEPT for the little chocolate baby who is by a silkied roo and out of a smooth hen. (Jaime, Jacinthe and Snickers)

Then we have my two little ones which hatched this past weekend. Again, out of the same trio pen as most of the babies above. This is Jacqueline (dark) and Jemma (light)
They are too cute

I have a 6 week old girl I hatched that is very sick. I keep waiting for her to take a turn one way or the other. I know my time is coming soon.

I hope she pulls through.

Well, my rescue chick is still motionless, but did absorb the rest of her yolk. Now hoping the umbilicus closes without problems. She started cheeping more, so I fed her a little honey water with a dropper, swallowed it fine, but still showing no signs of moving or sitting upright.
On the up side, the egg under my other broody has a large pip...didn't want to disturb her too much, but hoping all goes well! Also, I have my FIRST PIP inside the incubator...hope things start happening now!
Sounds like she has a fighting chance, come on little one.
