So are you saying to put the bator eggs under her instead of locking them down in the bator so they imprint? The two under her now are about a week behind the ones in the bator. Also, do you have that link to the progression pics?
Your choice really. Since the incubator ones will hatch first, after they hatch you can go out to the hen, and give her the hatched chicks, and take the eggs she is on. The eggs she is on you can put into the incubator, and when they hatch, add them to the chicks she is already taking care of. That way she would take care of both sets of chicks for you.
However, if you can do that depends on your hen. Some hens are great mothers, and others aren't. I would try it, simply because it is so much less work for you. Just remember to spend about an hour watching her with the new chicks both times you bring them out.
I found with my broody, what I had to do was hide the chick in my hand, and then slip the chick under her. Once the chick was under the hen, she thought it was hers and took great care of it. She hadn't hatched any of the chicks, I put mail order chicks under her.
So yes, I have heard that about imprinting etc., but in my case, the mail order chicks were very happy with the hen, and she was very happy with them.
Maybe you could out the eggs that will hatch soonest under her now, so they can hatch and imprint, and then put the younger eggs in the incubator. When the younger eggs hatch, you can see if she will except them. It would be a good experiment to see if you can tell a difference between the chicks that hatched and got to see "mama" right off, and those that hatched in the incubator.
