June Hatch a Long

Well
.I am going to make myself crazy again..
Set the eggs, guessing they were about 18 days.................but really think I went over on the days.
Had a pip last night so upped the humidity,. went to 70.
No progress on the pip this morning..............
Read the thread on float testing and floated 12 of the eggs.. Had knots in my stomach. have not done this before.
A few of them did a great water dance.so know they are alive...........at least some..............
Got to find something to do..................nose going flat from having it plastered on the window....................

Will check in later if the guys in the white coats have not taken me away...................................

I need to plan my next set so that the pips start on Friday and I can stay up all weekend to observe. I figure at this point I just need to embrace the crazy instead of fight it. I'm all antsy to do my second candle tonight. It's not even supposed to be tonight, but I miscounted last week and did it a day early, so sticking with it this week. Incubation madness!

Time and again I keep telling the wife that......but.....

She refuses to lick my broiler chicks.

I laid down for the 1st time at midnight, set my alarm for 1 hr was awake every hr to check on the 2 trouble makers, grandson was here at 7am, drove to town for groceries and low tire light came on, got oil changed and found a nail in my tire, just wonderful, finally got home, unloaded grub, fed grandson, and moved babies to brooder, get in here and Yall talkin nasty!!! I am so done with the month of May!!!
Bring on JUNE!!!!
And of course tomorrow is the SWAP!
Sometime I need to work in a good 8 hrs of sleep! Might be an ambien night!

I have a dozen assorted bantam eggs in the incubator for hatching on June18. Really needed to wait, since I need to hatch them around June 25, but I was worried that they would not be fresh enough at that point, so in the bator they went. Have never hatched banties before.

I have 1 FBCM and 3 Turken eggs that I hope will be okay to set June 5th. Picking up local Barnevelder eggs at some point before June 5th. Hopefully setting a few others, BLRW, CL, and Barred Cochins, just don't have everything nailed down yet.

Anything I should know about hatching banties other than they might be a day or two early?

If they are local, not shipped, you are good to go! If shipped, uggggh bad air cells and tiny chicks mean big troubles....lol

The days allmost over jac then you can take that pill and dream of all the exotic eggs your gonna get at the swap to hatch in June !

Not local but not shipped. I dropped in on Loveourbirds on monday and he didn't have what I came for so he took pity on me. They were tenderly cared for until we got back home.
man it is nice to be able to source eggs like that ,,, I can say if the eggs and breeds were available here like they are at home I would have me one of those old 1600 egg redwoods and be in BIG trouble !
