June Hatch a Long

There is the picture! It is a good way to see how our humidity is.

If your air cell is way too small for the age of the egg, you need to get your humidity lower. And the opposite is true too....if your air cell is way bigger than it should be, try to increase the humidity.

so... I have seen people posting about dry incubation..... I have never tried this. does it work better than keeping the water wells filled?

It really depends on your humidity. In my house, with my incubator, I have added no water at all, and am running a pretty constant 40% RH, which looks good...going by air cell growth.

Maybe if you are in the desert, you need to add lots of water to keep the eggs from drying out.

But, many people can add zero water for the first 18 days of incubation, then add lots of water for the last few days of 'lock down' and get a great hatch.

well I have 3 fish tanks in my house. a 75 gallon in my living room a 55 gallon in my bedroom and a 10 gallon in my sons room so my rh stays around 58%. so you are telling me I can incubate my eggs without adding any water at all until day 18????

Put the eggs in lockdown tonight. I filled all the water wells. I hope I get some chicks Friday.

400
. Possible blood ring? Day 4

Probably..... Actually, 58% RH is kinda high for the first 18 days. Have you kept track of the air cells? If the air cell is about the size it should be, then whatever you are doing is great....don't stress.
