June Hatch a Long

Well I just moved 25 babies to the brooder :) I have 12 eggs left in the bator, I hope they hatch today. They might actually be following the schedule, hatching started Sunday evening and went all day yesterday. Today is day 21.They are so cute, I love all the colored ones but surprised at the white ones and blue one :)

Congrats to all those with new babies and all the pics are beautiful, keep them coming.  :love

I am now on day 5, still a long wait to see if babies hatch.  I can't wait, am really looking forward to 27/28 June when the action should start.  So far temp has stayed absoutely steady so I am hopeful that all is ok but should be able to see better once I candle on day 7.
Two more days !!! He he

putting them out is fine Dolfi but the need shelter from the direct sun and plenty of water chickens can not sweat to regulate body heat they loose heat through their combs larger combed breeds do better in hot climates but babys have under developed combs and need cover from the sun so they can move into the shade to self regulate

Okay so far I have three out of twelve hatch that went into lockdown. Its been a full 24 hours since the second and third hatched and no other pips at all.. temp and humidity have been right on, the 9 eggs left got juggled around a bit from the three that hatched, but I didnt think that would stop them from hatching. What can I do? Theyre not rocking anymore and im losing hope. Today is day 21 and theres no more hatching in sight.

I would wait atleast until day 22 before worrying.

Actually, I have a question for the experienced hatchers...what extra steps do I have to take for an egg that has a detached air cell?

Incubate and hatch upright. If you have a turner, put them in turner to incubate, when hatch time, place in a cut down egg carton to hatch. Watch them carefully for signs of distress.

Sad to say but my bator got turned off sometime an my whole hatch is gone.... A sad day for me but its ok setting some duck eggs today.
don't toss them they can easily survive a extended cool down to room temp I have had them taken from under Broodys put in egg cartons and then discovered and hatched in the bator trust me 16 to 24 hrs is dooable they are not a loss
