June Hatch a Long

Aww man I thought I was on a roll there for a second

You are not an idiot, but you are still wrong....lol
Feather sexing can only be done in some chicks, you have to cross a fast feathering bird with a slow feathering bird, the chicks can be sexed by the feather growth at 2 days old

Our five new babies, hatched Sunday and Monday:

As you can kind of see, the last one, who just hatched this morning, has a raw belly button. It sticks out a bit, so it's in the box so the other chicks don't pick at it. I am putting antibacterial ointment on it regularly, so here's hoping it heals up. Baby is eating and drinking fine, and hyper, trying to get out of the box to be with the others in the brooder. It's egg was nice and clean though, and she didn't seem to have any trouble hatching.
Congratulations on the babies. They are beautiful. I must be missing something because I do not see the belly button area, but that is a newbie for you. He is adorable.

My hatch update is this.....nothing. This is day 22 1/2 - 23. My DH said he saw movement in the eggs today so we decided to keep the bator going. Maybe overnight they will decide to make an appearance. If only I could get one, just one....I don't care if it is a hen or roo.....JUST ONE!
