June Hatch a Long

So far my total count for June is 7 (with more to hatch on the 23rd and one last one due the 27th)...I promise to post pics over the weekend :D

Since both hatchers we open I moved guinea and chicken eggs early. Also did a candle. Only 1 duck egg isleft and thats iffy. Rest we early quitters. Pulled 4 project eggs but all 30 guineas are still good to go.

Ruined MIA1's setting today and she was in the process of early hatch

. My timing sucks. Have a few out though and healthy appearing. Returned her to coop 1/2 hr ago. And her eggs are hatching in bator now. Earlier moved chicks from downstairs to garage from last hatch. For now leaving keets there for company to new comers. If any issues I have another place to brood older ones.

Just figured out WHY the guineas are hatching now. My normal hatch day has been Saturdays. And this week got a little jumbled so broody guinea was making up my mishaps LOL

Hoping my luck holds out with this batch of keets. Shouldn't count on it so much but seems like I need it this year. All good temps/humid don't work for me now. Things get all crazy crappy and think scrap everything and BOOM

Babies everywhere. As long as the eggs come from my birds.

Just gotta figure out whats with the rouen eggs. Then I'll be happy and set. Until buffs get matured.

Thanks. I will look it up and have DH try it.
https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/step-by-step-guide-to-assisted-hatching Here is the link to the assisted hatch thread. The float test instructions are in the article. Be very careful in following the assist instructions. We first timers are probably wait too long or help too early. Hope your hatch goes well.

I ended up with one out of nine. She did all the work herself. Four had died early I just could not see through the shell that well. 2 had some development the other two went full term but couldn't get out. I pipped them on day 25 and I think I made the pip too large and they dried out. Sigh!! Still Learnin'.

I had two that I pulled out from the broody to put the others under her that are still in the bator. Did the float test today at what I think is day 23 and both are still alive but no pips. If the one that made it from the other batch is an indicator they should hatch today. Problem is I am not exactly sure how long she was on them so I am guessing on the set date.

thanks to everyone for all the advice but i have 0 that made it, i candled last night no movement so i cracked them today and all was dead. but i will be putting ducks in tomorrow so gonna focus on that.

Babies! All purebred Serama and all but the funny liver colored one are by the same cockerel (out of a smooth pullet and a frizzled pullet)
In the back of the photo with four babies is their week and a half old sister :D These noobs were born yesterday. 6 out of 9 eggs that went into lockdown, so not bad for Serama
