Hey monita, same thing happened with my 2nd hatch back at Easter. The rooster threw his colors on all the chicks, regardless of the breed of the hen. I had hens that were SG Dorkings & production reds. When they get older, you might see some variation. My Cuckoo Marans X Production Red cockerel has a checkerboard pattern coming through in his neck instead of barring. Kinda interesting.

Late last night I put 11 banty (bb red) eggs and 13 welsummer eggs in lockdown.

This morning the banty eggs are rocking and chirping, and I've already got 3 pips!!!

All's quiet with the welsummer eggs.
