June Hatch-A-Long

Yay!!! I candles my second batch of shipped eggs that I didn't think would make it tonight and nothing in a darn one of any consequence except the tiny bantam eggs that looked like they had started incubation before I got them and even they just have a tiny red spot here and there. The air cells are more like carpentry levels..so I got all upset and then realized wait wait wait..I just set these the evening of the 8th... so that was only 2 days ago...lol. going to wait a week and check again. Got a little ahead of myself there...ha

I'm on day 20, so far I've had 3 Sussex and 1 Buff hatch. Have a couple more external pips.
that yay was for you but got lost in my random ramblings. It's a chronic problem I have when talking about poultry or poultry by products. Lol

Congrats to you all who have chick's I went to check on mine again. Nothing that I could see or hear but something alerted my dog to lay by the incubator again.

Aww, got my first clear egg from my flock. My EE hen gave me an infertile egg in my batch set 6-4... I guess it happens but now I can't brag 100% fertility.

I woke up to a chick! When we went to bed last night 5 had pipped. Besides the one that hatched, none of the pips look any different- is that normal?
Now I have about 7 other pips- hope to actually get to see a hatch today.

The chick is rambling all over the bator and knocking into eggs and moving them around. Is that really okay?

It is better than ok. That check moving all the eggs and peeping and knocking around will urge the others to come on out. And sometimes it can take a long time between pip and hatch. So no worries there either.

I'm the same way. I think I might have done something wrong.

On my last hatch they had all come out by now. Hope you have better luck. I think I am going to check a few of mine.
