ok brown egg hatched last night, put it in the brooder this morning... lavender orp? if so, if it's a hen it's got a home. 8) ME!

I hatched 2 yellow chicks with a big black dot on their heads. 2/6 isn't too bad of a hatch rate for shipped eggs!

BTW, Jim I have 3 RIR, 1 Wellie, 1 CM, and 2 OEmixes from the eggs I got from you!

Well barred rocks are usually black chicks with a white dot on their head so it will be interesting to see what they grow out to look like....

Ki4got - grrrr.......that is not the egg I thought I sent! That chick would have been super easy to tell what it was. On the other hand, yes, that egg DID come from an orp, so good for you for guessing that! The eggs look very similar and they must have gotten mixed up on my counter as I just hatched an orp myself, that I thought was the other kind. I am not going to say what the other kind is, in case I use those eggs for the July swap. Hope those guinea eggs are cooking along.

BHep - got a couple BLRW out, and the olive egger. Very exciting!
