i have 4 quail rails for the auto turners, but because i don't like to disturb eggs incubating to put the turner in/out, now i just anchor it to one of the chicken rails. i just drilled a few small holes to use with long thin bolts, put it on pointing UP, with a bolt near the top to hold it onto the chicken rail, and drilled matching holes in the quail turner. so to put it on, it just slides over the bolts, and slides back off to come out. the bolts are just long enough to stick out about 1/4" above the top of the quail rail, and at first i did put a nut on it to hold it, but i got lazy. LOL
ohh! nice idea.

Only 4 of the serama eggs made it to day 10. I really just need 1 hen as I think I have a male from the last batch. The Lobo egg was not fertilized and the Nelson and a stanly quit early.

This has been my favorite swap month so far! I have had successful hatches from each of my swap partners' eggs (with 1 to go).

Breshcandra - 7/12 BBS Silkies
Madamwlf - 2/9 Cream Legbars (7 made it to lockdown, 2 are out and the rest are pipping and peeping right now!)
beauty2thebirds - 5/8 Light Brown Leghorns
lotsapaints - beautiful dark Marans and OE eggs are in the bator now and looking good - from what I can tell :)

Thank you all so much! I am always amazed if i can get a third of my shipped eggs to hatch, much less 50% and above. They were all packaged extremely well.

well, guineas are in lockdown. 7/8 developed, 5 have pipped so far.

oh and i don't think the mystery chick is a lavender orp... what else could it be if it's blue/splash? the feathers aren't an even shade but the fluff's light silver.

I am 0 for 2 with swap eggs that should have hatched. For some reason I cannot hatch Silkies. I had 4 Partridge Silkies go to lockdown. They were still moving on day 20. I checked today and they died. I had 1 Delaware from another go to lockdown and also died. I need to candle my last set yet.

My Iowa Blue that can be hard to hatch are popping out like popcorn, though.

I had a hard time with Catdance Silkies. I watched a partridge zip and die mid-zip while I was watching. So sad!

My swap eggs went into lock down tonight.

My Marans egg are in lock down right now, but look like nothing is going to happen with them. Its day 21 and no pips. I had 3 of the Sussex hatch, and 3 buttons and 2 pheasant. I'm down to 1 turkey egg but its developing.

Not as great as some hatches I've had, but not as terrible as others, lol.
