June to July hatch-a-long!!!

The hardest part is waiting lol, welcome to the hatch a long

You've got that right. I just hatched another batch of shipped eggs last week and it didn't go so well, but these SFH eggs arrived with really small and intact aircells and look to be very good quality (no porous eggs, etc) so I have high hopes. I'm really only wanting two, maybe three, to keep. Boys will likely have to go in the freezer, I suppose, and any other girls will get sold. If I get 7-8 total hatched I'll be pleased.

I have guinea eggs due sometime this month. I have absolutely no idea what day they’re on as the guinea was wild and I didn’t keep track of when she started. When I found her she had 16 eggs. I left her with 6 and gave 10 to my broody Orpington. Anyone wanna guess what day they’re on?View attachment 1823463View attachment 1823464View attachment 1823466View attachment 1823467View attachment 1823468

Okay, so I may have a problem. I got two more eggs today, so I just put those in. They're only a day behind most of the group.
I now have 19 eggs in this group :D

I gotta stop here, because I don't have enough brooders to keep up. I'm just going to be auctioning off eggs I get on here now, in 3 day lots.

oh no!!! if its not one thing its another i guess... today i went out to clean the top of my coop where my broody hen is...... and i found 4 MAGGOTS:he i guess it must be cuz the flies are really in to my chicken feed this year:idunno i have three flie traps out but i guess thats not enough:( i cleaned the rest of the shavings out and poured boiling water all over where i found them, i took my broody hen off the nest hopefully she wont break.
