June to July hatch-a-long!!!

Believe it or not, some people have hatched eggs from the refrigerated section of Trader Joe's. Wish I could remember what kind they were... And yeah, at least one thread here that completed the incubation of balut eggs (a Philipine delicacy consisting of duck embryo still in the egg). Kind of gross, but that was one lucky duckling... You could probably do a search and find all those threads...

Yes I have heard of people doing that I want to try it lol but dont know where to get eggs fromI dont know if eggs from Walmart would hatch

I don't think I would try to hatch anything from Walmart, those are pretty much guaranteed to be factory farm eggs, and those hens never see a rooster in their lives... I wasn't exactly suggesting you try that... Some people here just like to try to hatch eggs that are unusually challenging "just to see what happens" so to speak. As to finding eggs, Craigslist, facebook, maybe just asking on here would work, if you don't care what kind. Many people who have chickens wind up with too many eggs and sell them at farmer's markets on the weekend. You can ask if they might be fertile, but you might tell them you want to hatch them first, since some people won't buy fertile eggs.

I have another broody hen, my black Cochin is setting I'm pretty sure. Can't catch her off the nest. I guess I will have blue/black/splash Cochin chicks in a couple of weeks (and maybe a few splash cochin/buff Brahma cross, since there is one buff brahma hen in that coop). I got the Cochins to hatch turkey eggs and wouldn't you know that I don't have any right now...

I set my eggs yesterday so today around 8:00 it will be the first day

Well I set my eggs last night and went to check on them this morning and something got in my coop a d ate the eggs know I dont know what to do
