We fenced in our backyard and at night that is where the dogs go out to potty. If we go out front to the barn or to take care of chickens, the Jacks sometimes go out with us. I do put the Bouvier on a long line to go out front , only because he is a young hormonally driven boy right now and tends to follow any other dog scent around, until he is neutered and gets some obedience he is tethered, but only when we are outside. I walk him any other time.
