I just wanted to say--I went into check on my babies this morning...And low and behold our 7 yo cat Furball was sleeping on the bed in the "chick room". 
She must have snuck in last night when I checked on them right before bed.. But nothing was bothered and nobody seemed to be in shock..so Furball must not have been interested in them or just decided they were not worth the effort--maybe being out numbered and such...Thank Goodness
