Our first clutch was very disappointing. We had fewer than 50% pip and hatch, which is bad since through candling we determined all to be fertile. I understand the first clutch of any season can be bad, so we are hoping for better results this weekend. We'll have a hatch everyone Sunday/Monday as long as we get eggs.

We are certain we had no temperature problem. So, it's 'boiling down' to humidity. It's just a matter of if we had too much or too little humidity. Our current theory is too much and we've adjusted the moisture level already. Time will tell... oh and I got a hygrometer coming from a humidor shop.

So, we had 3 Appleyards and 2 Embdens:

All 3 of the eggs from cockadoodlemom are continueing to grow and show very active embryos. I candled this morning and am tickled pink to watch them move around!

Forgive me for being a wee bit ignorant, but how long is the incubation period of a gosling? I saw someone mention that they were on day 20 (I believe it was you, PrissyGoose) and I started thinking about it.
