Just curious on ppls opinion of big boy my rooster!!

Thanks everyone for y'alls opinions , it was helpful. I also have one more question he is picking on my polish bantam rooster and the other day I found him standing n the coop with his neck dangling he couldn't hold his neck up I thought it was broken but I brought him in and wrapped him in a towel and nursed him for a day but the morning after I found him he was on deaths door but I had to leave him and run some errands all day . My husband got home and text me and said ur chicken is running around the house crapping everywhere I actually called him a liar bc I thought no way he was on deaths door when I left him that morning he wouldnt take any food he still couldn't pick his neck or head up . But lo and behold when I got home he was running around begging me to go out to his flock . Any idea what could have happened . I noticed after I put him back with the flock big boy was grabbing his crest and shaking him like a dog would do a toy . To me it's amazing how chickens can bounce back like that when so close to death .

So not sure whats happening and why big boy is being so aggressive with him he isn't crowing anymore bc he knows big boy is the dominant roo he doesn't show any aggression towards big boy he actually trys to stay out his way so any ideas on how to keep big boy from killing him ? His name is scuttle from the lil mermaid bc he is a polish bantam and all white so we thought the name fit him well . Anyway I don't want big boy to kill him . It's strange bc it seems like big boy is trying to mount him like a hen sometimes . They r all just now coming into their teens and getting ready to mate maybe that's the reason. Idk I don't have any other bantams for my lil man at the moment so . I had bought a few as chicks which all were pullets except scuttle I could tell by the shape of their heads even that young the females have a more round puff males more oblong . If anyone is in South louisiana and have some polish pullets even if they are already full grown id love to purchase some for my polish bantam so I can get him out of big boys way and give him his own LIL girls to love . If anyone has any let me know . I live in new roads , la . Thanks guys and goodnight

Your only options are to separate them or rehome/eat Big Boy. If you don't your Polish will be killed.

I was afraid that wasn't gonna be a an option . He only does that to him when they are inside their coop when I let them out to free range they even all cuddle together when they go to take a nap. Big boy and him even lay next to each other . But when I put them in the coop it's a totally different story .

How many hens do you have? How many roosters? You could separate the polish out with a few hens of his own.

I only have hens that are way bigger then the poor lil guy when I bought him as a chick I had him a few pullets too but they didn't make it passed a week old not sure what happened but they got sick so I really need to find someone close to me that has some pullets. id rather either full grown polish hens or teenagers not baby chicks bc he needs some girls now . These girls I have are way too much for him to be able to handle he is such a small fellow .

He doesn't need to be able to mate the hens to be happy, really he doesn't need any hens at all. If he was mine, I would separate him with some of the smaller hens in his own pen.

Yea I don't mean for him to mate just have some so he isn't lonely. All my hens that I have now r big breeds so don't have any small girls and I don't want him picked on and pushed around bc they are so much bigger . So I wanna get him some hens around his size or not much bigger .
