Just curious what everyone is charging for eggs this year.............

Local Asian market was charging $8.50/10 duck eggs, and people were buying them.

where I lived in California (Bay Area), the chicken guy I know ( has a bunch that he just lets roam in his yard) sells them to fancy restaurants and stores and local people buy the rest. he gets $5-$6 per dozen, and charges locals $4. I know CA is generally overpriced, but I think many of you could be charging more!

Mine aren't organic...they're just happy chickens.
We cover the feed and bedding...and what appears to be my new chicken habit...
If I go to SF to visit family, I'll take several dozen and sell them for $5 each. Muhahhaha muhahah!

Oh my goodness.........I'm about ready to close shop here in MI and move out west.........I cant imagine with MI's economy that I could EVER get 5-6 a dozen!!!

I believe the egg lady at the farmer's market there gets $5. I think that's pretty standard.

I mean standard for great, homegrown eggs in CA. Buying cagefree organic at the store is like $3.50-$4.50 as it is, and homegrown are better and people are happy to pay more. Try it if the economy isn't completely dead where you are! Don't gouge people... just consider what they are already paying at the store and charge at least that much... yours are certainly better, no?

I plan on selling my eggs for $7.00/doz. at the Farmer's Market this summer. My eggs are from hens that are fed organic layer feed, organic: coconut, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, Spelt, Kamut, Millet, Barley, Oat grains, Cod liver oil, comfrey, parsley, sprouted grains, etc. I plan on putting this on my labels on the cartons.

Eggs that are from chickens that are not fed organic food sell for $5.00 to $6.00/dozen at the Farmer's Market, and sell out within the first 1/2 hour to hour, and the Farmer's Market is open 2 days a week.

So I guess that a lot of you answered my next question.......about selling eggs at Farmer's Markets. I've never seen anyone sell them at farmers markets and wanted to do so this summer. I'm thinking I'll stay away from some of the smaller towns though........

$6 a dozen, $3 a half dozen and that puts me 23 cents cheaper than our local grocery store! I raise mine organically though so that raises the price.
