I am not sure if I am just freaking out after the surgery and need to talk or just rambling. I would first like to explain why I did it and not to a vet so here goes:
1. We are in quarantine (for nVD) and we cannot move birds.
2. The one vet in my area that will see chickens ( i have taken chickens to him before) will not see my chicken due to the quarantine
3. I have been laid off and money is tight and money was a factor
4. I was desperate
So i hope I did everything right and hope everything will be okay.
So what did I learn - Trust your instincts because maybe, just maybe I would not have to open her up.
As of right now, she looks more alive than she has in the past few days. I felt her keel bone and she is skinny (not deathly but skinny.) She has been separated from the other girls and she is not happy but she is staying there until I see her healing a little more.
SO fingers crossed she survives and I hope I did everything correct. Anyone else have had to go through this? and the outcome?
