I had never built anything more complicated than a bird feeder by myself when I decided to do this project. Hubby just built a very nice shed coop for our flock but I wanted to get a couple hens that were already laying. I knew there was no way I could get dh to build a little coop for them to use during the quarantine period, so I decided to do it myself. After the hens are integrated, I can use this as a broody house, for isolation, or for breeding. The plans were easy to follow and it is VERY solid!

I spent $202 on materials. I did get 10% off everything at Lowe's and HD, bought "oops" brown paint, got some hardware at the ReStore, and went a little cheap on the roof panels and wheels. I already had the red paint and some deck screws.

The Garden Ark plans can be bought from http://www.thegardencoop.com - well worth the money! The plans have you prep everything at the beginning, so once you start building it is like you're putting together a kit.

Just 2 - the plans say it can fit 3-4, but that seems a little crowded.
