Just Finished Treating My Rooster for Gapeworm but still have concerns

Can you get a picture of his right eye? His left looks normal. It is just in your first group of pictures, his right eye looks gray. But that may just be the light in the picture.

It's o.k. to keep him in, but chickens do enjoy getting out in the sun. So when you have a warm(ish) sunny day I'd take him out for a little while.

He's still young, so hasn't quite filled out, give him time. See that he's eating his normal feed, limit treats and see how he does over the course of a couple of weeks.

So you would not recommend treating him for respiratory illness at this point yet?

It doesn’t hurt to get something like Tylan or the generic tylosin in case you begin to see eye foam or bubbles or symptoms worsen. But right now, he may not need them. He could have just a virus, such as infectious bronchitis (or other) which does not respond to antibiotics.

Tylan50 can be found at most feed stores, it wouldn't hurt to have it on hand.

Ok great, and recommend dosage ? I think I’ll grab it wait a few more days since he just finished the safe guard if not any better I’ll try a round of that. Like you said too good to have on hand we will be on the road for 4 months starting Jan.

Tylan50 dose is 0.25ml per pound of weight given orally 3 times a day for 5 days in a row.
