Ugh, no I feel like I'll never get eggs from the girls. I did check the bones as suggested, and there has been a lot of change there. And a visual of the vent shows a difference. Hers is more "open" looking. They are at almost 21 weeks now. Her comb and waddles are even bigger.

Sarah on right, Winnie on left. Both almost 21 weeks.

Sarah should be laying any time now! She's very close!

I sure hope so! I love them either way but I wants me some fresh eggs! It's funny bc I thought Sarah would mature first based on her growth until now.

We have submissive squatting and now all the pelvic bones have spread out to what should accommodate laying when I checked today...come on Sarah, give momma an egg

I feel your pain. Finally have 4 of my 11 laying, but only 2 of those are laying daily now. There are about 4 more that seem ready according to pelvic checks and keep investigating the nest boxes but have me waiting still.

Shoot, I did forget to give the 'ol "soup or dumplings" threat But I did give her some BSL/bug mix for the first time in a while today so maybe she'll take the bribe and I won't have to threaten

The wait feels like forever!!!!!! I have one that started squatting for me about 2 weeks ago..... still no egg. her comb has been red but not as big as my other one of the same breed that started laying on the 13th. I had one that had a big bright red comb for about 3 weeks before she finally laid! I thought for sure she would have laid earlier, I mean her comb was BRIGHT red and big, she gave me her first egg on the 24th. My EE's comb isn't even that red and she laid her first one on the 20th, she was checking out the nest box a lot but I honestly didn't think she was ready going by her comb...... I have 1 other that has a red comb that I am waiting to start as well. Then some that don't look close yet..

Last year I tried checking pelvic bones on mine and one had a big red comb, was squatting for me and her pelvic bones seemed separated the "two fingers" ya it took like another 2 mo for her to lay! she really confused me. LOL

I also have a rooster so most of them won't squat for me. out of 10 that have started laying but 11 counting the 1 that squats for me, only those 2 have ever squatted for me.

I threatened mine they would be chicken nuggets all the time. LOL 2 were almost 11 mo when they laid!

But she does look like she is close! you will have to join the "it finally happened new egg layer" thread when she does lay for you!
